Adding “Pop” To Your Content

Content needs to be engaging.

But, I’ll let you in on a secret…

You don’t need to be a great writer to create it.

You just need to know how to make your content  POP!

In this module, I’ll go into my personal bag of tricks to show you how to effortlessly create content that:

  • Stands out
  • Grabs attention
  • Pops off the page

If you can do that, you’ll be fighting a downhill battle when it comes to link building and ranking.

What Is “Pop” And Why Is It Important?

Pop is presenting your content in a way that holds attention.

You’ve already learned some key principles of how to do this, like using:

  • Headings
  • Subheadings
  • Bullet points
  • Custom graphics

But there are some other formatting tricks we can use to get even better results.

Let’s look at some examples from my blog.

Example 1: Pop Goes The Statement

This statement is formatted to attract attention:

It stands alone and can easily be read. But we can definitely 10x it.

Formatting tools let you create separation between key statements and the rest of the text:

You can’t ignore this statement now. Better still, Click To Tweets can increase social shares!

Example 2: From Boring To “Bang!”

This list is well presented. It’s easy to read and understand:

But it could be better!

By using icons and highlights the list has more pop:

It adds personality to the post and helps catch the eye of skim-readers.

Example 3: Emphasize Key Information

You can add weight to facts and figures by  highlighting them.

Compare this statement…

To this one…

They both say the exact same thing, but the highlighted statement leaves a bigger impression.

You know it’s important!

Example 4: Combine All Your Tricks!

Find opportunities in your posts to combine all of these tricks.

I like to do this at the end of posts where I summarize and lead to a CTA. Here is how this would look on other blogs:

And here’s how it looks on mine:

This keeps people engaged until the very end!
